1 Timothy 6:16 KJV 1900

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

“…who only hath immortality…”

Jesus Shall Never Die

He is our guarantee of immortality!

Colossians 3:3 KJV 1900

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Jesus is the Eternal God!

Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

All glory belongs to Him

All Power Belongs to Him

Our Service Must be in His Power and For His Glory

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

“…charge them that are rich in this world…”

What God Expects of the Rich

Direct and Definite Charge to be Delivered

“…be not high minded…”

The rich man is wise in his own conceit; But the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

God can take what we have

He removeth away the speech of the trusty, And taketh away the understanding of the aged.

Don’t be to proud of what you have, it all can disappear in an instant!

For riches are not for ever: And doth the crown endure to every generation?

Riches can be dangerous!

Deuteronomy 6:10–12 KJV 1900

And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Riches are Fleeting

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: But the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

“Money talks, it says “Good bye!”

“…trust…in the living God…”

Psalm 62:8–10 KJV 1900

Trust in him at all times; ye people, Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: To be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

God in Christ is the Source of all Blessings

Look Carefully Where You Put Your Treasure

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Use What God has Given to the Benefit of Others

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The Opposite of the Flesh
