2. Welcome to our continuing study on Just a Thought on the Book of Revelation.
3. Today we are on part of Just a thought on Revelation 13.
Revelation 13:3 KJV 1900
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death”
The heads on the beast represent kings!
So one of those kings or kingdoms is going to be wounded by an assassin.
Possible it speaks of the antichrist being wounded in the head literally.
What follows causes men to wonder.
“and his deadly wound was healed”
Satan will copy the Lord’s resurrection.
• Satan enters into the antichrist.
• Antichrist becomes literally the devil.
“and all the world wondered after the beast”
• The world will be shocked by the resurrected antichrist.
• Think him a god.
Revelation 13:4 KJV 1900
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast”
Man is inherently religious.
Men in that day, like men today, will not repent of their idolatrous worship.
Revelation 9:20 KJV 1900
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
Worship Involves Bowing Before
Romans 11:4 KJV 1900
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
Worship also Involves
an Act of Friendship
Luke 22:48 KJV 1900
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
Note Who They are Worshipping!
“and they worshipped the beast”
• Heartfelt Worship
• Sold out to Satan
• Listen to their cry!
• “saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”
Their challenge: “…who is able to make war with him…”
Think God cannot stand up to the beast!
Assured that peace is come without God!
Possibility:
1. Judas Resurrected
a. Antichrist
2. Baalam Resurrected
a. False Prophet
Revelation 13:5 KJV 1900
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
“And there was given unto him a mouth”
Daniel 7:8 KJV 1900
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
His mouth is the instrument of Satan, the antichrist!
“speaking great things and blasphemies”
Daniel 11:36 KJV 1900
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
How speaks the devil?
The devil boasts and blasphemes!
“and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months”
Limited power!
Time of Ministry Matches the Savior, forty-two Months!

Our Service Must be in His Power and For His Glory
1 Peter 4:11 KJV 1900
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 6:17 KJV 1900
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
“…charge them that are rich in this world…”
What God Expects of the Rich
Direct and Definite Charge to be Delivered
“…be not high minded…”

Riches can be dangerous!
Deuteronomy 6:10–12 KJV 1900
And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
“…nor trust in uncertain riches…”
Riches are Fleeting
Psalm 52:7 KJV 1900
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

“…trust…in the living God…”
Psalm 62:8–10 KJV 1900
Trust in him at all times; ye people, Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: To be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
Psalm 84:11–12 KJV 1900
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Look Carefully Where You Put Your Treasure
Matthew 6:19–20 KJV 1900
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
1 Timothy 6:18 KJV 1900

“…ready to distribute…”
The Opposite of the Flesh
Looking Out for Others
Romans 12:13 KJV 1900
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
1 John 3:17 KJV 1900
But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
“…willing to communicate…”
Hebrews 13:16 KJV 1900
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Philippians 4:15 KJV 1900
Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
Welcome to our continuing study on Just a Thought on the Book of Revelation.
Today we are on part 2 of Just a thought on Revelation 13.
Slide 2:
In our study, today, we see John’s vision of the antichrist.
Looks like a leopard, walks like a bear, talks like a lion.
We will consider the revelation and get a good view of the antichrist.
Slide 3:
Revelation 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Connected to beast in Revelation 13
Slide 22:
“the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard”
Description of the beast
Represented as a leopard, walks like a bear, mouth of a lion
Slide 23:
Pay attention to the words: “like” “as”: not literal but likeness!
Slide 24:
Cp. Daniel 7 with Revelation 13
Daniel 7:22
Slide 25:
“like unto a leopard”
Like the US; melting pot
“leopard”: yellow-brown body, black spots, white belly
Integrated; multicultural
Slide 26:
Multicultural, bad idea
10 toes
Slide 27
Weak
House divided: Weakened as the ten toes on Nebuchadnezzars image: clay and iron (Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand🙂
Slide 28:
Representative of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Could be a picture of the US.
Slide 29:
“his feet were as the feet of a bear”
Moves like a bear
Russian: Communism, Socialism
Moves like communism, or socialism.
Slide 20:
“his mouth as the mouth of a lion”
Speaks like lion—only part like England
Could represent GB and her English family; language English.
Slide 31:
“…leopard (US)…bear (Russia)…lion (England)…”
Operates like the US, moves like a communist, speaks like an English man.
Sslide32
Gets his power: “the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority”
Satan shall take over the world!
Slide 33:
The Dragon we know is: Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Satan now cast out of heaven to the Earth.

Slide 37:
Antichrist is a Jew; out of Palestine; will be accepted of Israel as their “king”; revealed only after the Holy Spirit is removed.
Introduction: Welcome back to our continuing study on Just a Thought on Revelation.
Today—Just a Thought on Revelation 13:1
God’s view of the governments of men.
See how some try to insert the devil as a messenger in place of John.
Antichrist’s rise
Slide 3:
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Revelation 13:1)
Slide 4:
When God pictures governments of this world he sets them forth as “beasts”
Slide 5:
Federation of nations (UN)
Slide 6:
Psalms 2:1-4
Slide 7:
The world is looking for the antichrist, not the Christ of God!Luke 2:26
Slide 8:
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea”
Critics and scripture give credit to wrong person
Dragon not John standing
Slide 9:
The answer of Bible believer
God says what he means
John is the messenger, not the dragon
Slide 10:
“the sand of the sea”
The Mediterranean Sea.
Antichrist to come out of Palestine.
Slide 11:
“saw a beast rise up out of the sea”
Unlike any normal beast
Mixed beast
What John sees is the antichrist.
Slide 12:
Called by many names in Scripture?
King first, then kingdom Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. (Ruckman)
Slide 13:
“having seven heads and ten horns”
Has 7 heads 10 horns
Mentioned in Revelation 17:10 as kings of Roman empire
Slide 14
Deals with antichrist’s rule
3 ½ years of compromise (Revelation 17:3-5)
Slide 15:
then 3 ½ years of absolute dictatorship (Revelation 17:16)

Slide 23:
Fruit of the dragon
Slide 24:
Things different
Slide 25:
Definite difference Chapter 12 “seven crowns on his heads “upon his horns ten crowns” Chapter 13 “upon his horns ten crowns”
Slide 26:
Not an exact match to Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Slide 27:
Describes the dragon, Satan 12:3
Describes antichrist 13:1 fruit of the dragon
Slide 28:
Comes up after the devil cast down to earth there is a difference here: “seven crowns on his heads” “upon his horns ten crowns”
Slide 29:
Beast here gets his power from the dragon of chapter 12
“and to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness”
On eagle’s wings as God brought her out of Egypt: Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
Cp. Deuteronomy 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
Possibility: Description of airplane escape
Not on the sabbath: Matthew 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
No airlines fly on the Sabbath in Israel.
“into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent”
Discussed earlier that her place is Petra in modern-day Jordan.
City of refuge for Israel.
God’s care for Israel during this time is like unto the manna in the wilderness.
Terrible time: Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
“the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood”
Literal (?): Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Will do all possible to destroy Israel: Lamentations 4:19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness
God can do miraculously above all that we could ask or think: Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed”
Since he cannot harm the hidden, he goes after the remaining remnant.
These had not heeded the warning to flee: Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Staying where God tells you to leave is a really bad idea.
No one to blame but themselves for being in harm’s way.
Problem: Unbelief!
“which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”
Faith and works in Tribulation Period: cp. Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Not true today:
Cp. Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
True in Tribulation Period: Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Cp. Matthew 24:50-51 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, [51] And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Cp. Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Is it possible then to lose salvation? Not today.
Conclusion: This is the conclusion of our study on Just a Thought on Revelation 12.
Introduction: In our last study we saw that old dragon, the devil, and his angels, cast down to earth. The accuser of the brethren, the devil, is removed. No longer does he have access to the Throne of God to accuse us before our Heavenly Father. We saw also the rejoicing that brought in the courts of glory.
(Slide 3)
Now we come to see the victory that is ours, we are overcomers. But we also see that this earth is in for it as Satan is cast down to earth.
Every Christian overcomes “by the blood of the Lamb”: 1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(Slide 7)
Not every Christian testifies for the Savior, but some do.
Those who do overcome “by the word of their testimony”
(Slide 8)
Those who testify do not all love the Lord Jesus Christ above their own lives, their own families, and the world
But there are some that “loved not their lives unto the death”
(Slide 9)
“by the blood of the Lamb”
We overcome by the blood of the Lamb: old fashioned, “Plead the blood.”
(Slide 10)
Our victory is in the Lamb of God: Romans 8:33-34, 37 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us…Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
(Slide 11)
Overcome the devil through the blood of the Lamb, the devil hates the blood of the Lamb.
“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them”
A time for rejoicing for us as believers.
Victory in heaven.
What’s good news for the believer is bad news for the world:
(Slide 14)
“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! “
Good news for believers, bad news for “the inhabiters of the earth.”
Hear the warning: “Woe”
(Slide 15)
“For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath”
Why the warning?
Devil comes down to earth
Comes with great wrath
Devil doesn’t like when he doesn’t get his way.
He is a rebel, running out of time.
(Slide 16)
Now the world is going to see the fury of the wicked one.
These last 3 ½ years of Tribulation will be terrifying.
Ending of his time: cf. Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
(Slide 17)
Devil knows not much time to cause trouble for God
Devil knows he is not in charge
(Slide 18)
“inhabiters of the earth”
These are not pilgrims, sojourners
As believers are:
1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
(Slide 19)
Only residence: 1 John 4:5-6 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. [6] We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
(Slide 20)
“he hath but a short time”
Limited, not limitless.
Knows that all shall come to a screeching halt.
Reaction in his fury:
(Slide 21)
Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
(Slide 22)
“he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.”
Takes out his fury on those that brought the Savior into the world.
Devil knows he is going to lose the kingdoms of this world: Revelation 11:15.
(Slide 26)
Certainty of the promise to Israel: cp. Acts 1:16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
(Slide 27)
Cp. Jeremiah 33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
(Slide 28)
God is going to turn from the Gentiles to Israel yet in the future.
(Slide 29)
The devil knows that he is going to lose to Israel’s God and Israel, hates it.
Introduction: In our last study we saw what happened to the angels that followed the devil, 1/3 of the host, are cast out of heaven. Now we pick our study up at Verse 9 and there we are going to see what happened to the devil at that time.
“the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan”
Down comes the devil, cast out of heaven.
We shall see that his opposition will become even more fierce.
(Slide 4)
“cast out”
Thrown out like the guest without a robe at the wedding: Matthew 22:11-13 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: [12] And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. [13] Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Slide 5)
Our Lord will always be victorious over the dragon: cp. Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
(Slide 6)
“which deceiveth the whole world”
Satan is a deceiver: John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
(Slide 7)
Told Eve, “ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4)
(Slide 8)
Like false teachers and preachers: Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
(Slide 9)
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
(Slide 10)
Seeks to deceive Believers: 1 Peter 5:8
(Slide 11)
Deceives the nations today: Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
(Slide 12)
Cp. Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
(Slide 13)
“he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”
Herein is a terrifying thought, the devil will come to this earth in fury.
Wait till man sees these visitors from outer space!
A glorious declaration for some, bad news for others.
(Slide 16)
“Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ”
Satan vanquished is salvation.
(Slide 17)
Satan vanquished is strength: 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Cp. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
(Slide 18)
“for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night”
Rejoice that this day means satan can no longer accuse us to the Savior.
This he is doing today, even as he did with Job to God (Job1 & 2)
Great news for us as believers.
(Slide 19)
Conclusion: What a great note to end our study on, the removal of that old dragon that accuses us before the Throne of God daily. Praise God the accusations will end.
